Rose Dry Wine

Liatiko

Liatiko reveals a bright and expressive character, with aromas of red fruits, gentle spices, and a subtle earthy note that highlights its authenticity. On the palate it is elegant, with medium body and balanced acidity that brings vibrancy and clarity. Hints of cherry, strawberry, and dried herbs blend with a soft tannic structure, creating a harmonious and refined tasting experience. The finish is clean and persistent, leaving a sense of freshness and discreet complexity that defines this Cretan variety.

Our Own Liatiko

In the Stavros area of Dafnes in Heraklion, at an altitude of 360 meters, Liatiko originates primarily from privately owned vineyards that authentically express the character of the Cretan land, while keeping open the possibility for carefully selected additions whenever this serves quality. The sandy‑clay soils of the region give this Cretan variety a clean, bright and delicate expression, while the planting density of 300–320 vines per stremma allows the vineyard to grow with balance and natural intensity.

Production can reach 1100–1200 kilos per stremma, with the harvest taking place in mid‑August, yielding grapes with vibrancy, ripeness and a distinctive aromatic purity. The renewal of the vines approximately every 12 years preserves the freshness and consistency of the variety, ensuring a stable and authentic expression of Liatiko.

This is a variety that captures with finesse the character of Dafnes, combining elegance, brightness and the gentle strength of Crete, conveying in every sip the tradition and discreet refinement of the place.

Pairings

Liatiko pairs beautifully with a wide range of flavors thanks to its bright, elegant and slightly earthy character. It complements lamb or pork with Mediterranean herbs, beef cuts with mild sauces, as well as more refined dishes such as duck with fruit or a light glazing. It stands wonderfully beside mushroom pasta, tomato risotto, dishes featuring eggplant, and more aromatic options like curry, ginger or spicy vegetables. It also matches beautifully with semi‑hard cheeses, charcuterie, and roasted vegetables, offering a warm, expressive and well‑balanced harmony at the table.
